Nuggets win first game of 2020 NBA playoffs

Denver Nuggets have won the opening game of the National Basketball Association (NBA) 2020 playoffs after beating Utah Jazz 135-125 on Monday.

The game was tied at 115 after four quarters were played and headed to overtime, where Denver hit four three-pointers to establish and grow their lead and close out the game. Canadian guard Jamal Murray, who finished the game with 36 points for the Nuggets and hit six shots from behind the arc, led Denver to victory. On the other side, by tallying 57 points, Utah shooting guard Donovan Mitchell broke the 20-year-old playoff scoring record of 50 points set by Jazz legend Karl Malone.

All playoff rounds will be played in a best-of-seven format at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in the Walt Disney World Resort in Bay Lake, Florida, without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic.
