Asia mostly up after Japan trade balance data

Equities on the Asian markets traded mostly higher on Wednesday after Japan's Customs Office released its trade balance data which saw the country's deficit in July standing at around $110 million, to mark an improvement compared to the previous month's number.

At 5:43 am CET, the dollar rose 0.1% against the yen, going for ¥105.5010, as South Korea's Kospi added 0.97%. Japan's Nikkei 225 went up by 0.44% a minute later, with the Australian S&P 200, increasing 1.13% at 05:47 am CET.

In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite decreased 0.3% at 5:30 am CET, while the Shenzhen Composite lost 1.05% at 05:36 am CET. Markets in Hong Kong were closed on Wednesday.
