Russia approves Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine trials

The third phase of a COVID-19 vaccine candidate trial developed by the Oxford University and AstraZeneca PLC will also take place in Russia, the country's health authorities revealed on Friday.

According to regulatory approval, the trial will include 150 patients at four medical facilities in Moscow and St. Petersburg. This comes expectedly as the British company previously signed a deal with the Russian government to produce the vaccine at Russian R-Pharm as soon as it is developed.

Besides Russia, the third and final part of the vaccine trials will also start in Mumbai, India.
