Peskov: Putin took no part in Navalny's transportation decision

Russian President Vladimir Putin played no role in making a decision on transportation of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny from Omsk to Berlin for treatment, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov (pictured) asserted on Monday.

According to him, it was "an absolutely medical decision, which was associated with the patient's state of health" without interference by the government. "All permissions related to the formalities associated with departure were resolved very quickly and without any problems after the doctors considered it possible to transport the patient," Peskov noted.

On Saturday, the plane carrying Navalny landed in the German capital, two days after he was admitted to Omsk hospital over suspected poisoning.
