Navalny's aide says Putin could have approved poisoning

Ivan Zhdanov, Director of Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK) and an ally of Russian opposition leader Aleksey Navalny (pictured), accused on Wednesday Russian President Vladimir Putin of sanctioning Navalny's alleged poisoning.

Zhdanov stressed that Putin hates FBK because it exposes the misdoings of the Russian authorities.

Navalny was admitted to a hospital in Omsk, followed by his spokesperson's statement claiming he was poisoned, after which he was transferred to a medical facility in Germany. The Russian officials have strongly denied any role in the incident, while the country's doctors claimed that Navalny's toxicology report came back negative.
