Amazon launches Alexa Residential for property managers

Amazon Inc. announced on Thursday that it is releasing Alexa Residential, a new service aimed to help property managers build a smart-home experience.

The Seattle-based company pointed out that the new Alexa will benefit both the residents and the property managers. For the former, the apartment is ready-to-use and no necessary effort is needed for setup on their part, while the latter will meet the growing consumer demand for "voice-enabled smart apartments and communities." The smart home features include timers, alarms, get the weather, news, and other features that can be accessed by using only your voice.

"Our vision was to create a service that makes having an Alexa-enabled home accessible for anyone, regardless of whether they rent or own their home," Liron Torres said, who is the Head of Smart Properties at Amazon Alexa.
