Pentagon reaffirms Microsoft JEDI partnership

United States Department of Defense said on Friday that it will remain committed to the agreement with Microsoft Corp. on Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud computing contract, worth $10 billion.

"The Department has completed its comprehensive re-evaluation of the JEDI Cloud proposals and determined that Microsoft's proposal continues to represent the best value to the Government. The JEDI Cloud contract is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that will make a full range of cloud computing services available to the DoD," Pentagon noted in a statement.

The deal caused significant controversy, as Microsoft's competitor, Inc. had filed a motion in court to suspend the JEDI contract, which has been granted in February. Amazon claims that US President Donald Trump impacted Pentagon's decision due to his alleged animosity toward its CEO Jeff Bezos.
