Former WH space policy advisor hired by Amazon

Amazon Inc. appointed former White House official of space policy Peter Marquez as the first director of the program at the Amazon Web Service, CNBC reported on Thursday.

"There are many exciting things happening in the space community, and this is going to be awesome," Marquez said on his LinkedIn profile. The new addition to the company's Web Service team signals a rising interest in the expansion of its space exploration program.

Previously, the tech giant announced an investment of $10 billion into its project of thousands of internet satellites called Kuiper Divison. This project will directly challenge Tesla's SpaceX Starlink.
