EasyJet pilots to work part-time to avoid unemployment - report

EasyJet pilots reportedly managed to avoid obligatory redundancies after signing new contracts that imply they would work part-time.

According to the internal documents seen by The Telegraph, 60 pilots offered to take voluntary redundancy.

A spokesman for the EasyJet said the company did everything to "minimize compulsory redundancies despite the closure of three of our UK bases," and that "as a result, we are pleased to confirm that we are close to concluding the pilot preferencing process and have been able to offer part-time and seasonal contracts to most impacted pilots, base transfers where requested, alongside accepting 60 requests for voluntary redundancy."
