US opens higher as tech stocks attempt to rebound

Major stock markets in the United States opened higher on Friday as tech stocks tried to rebound from yesterday's losses. Consumer prices increased by 0.4% in August on a seasonally adjusted basis, including energy and gasoline prices. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump commented earlier the jobless claims figures saying they were "beyond expectations."

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 0.40% or 110 points higher at the opening as Nike Inc went up by 2.11%. The Nasdaq 100 grew by 0.88% with Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp rising by 3.60%. The S&P 500 went up by 0.63%. Apache Corp increased by 1.33%.

The euro grew by 0.31% against the dollar to sell for $1.18520 at 9:28 am ET.
