US oil inventories drop by 9.51M - reports

Crude inventories in the United States went down by 9.51 million barrels in the week ending September 11, private data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) reportedly showed on Tuesday. Meanwhile, oil reserves in Cushing, Oklahoma, rose by 0.79 million barrels in the same seven-day period.

Gasoline stockpiles in the US climbed by 3.76 million barrels last week, while the country's distillate reserves went down by 1.23 million barrels in the same week.

West Texas Intermediate for settlements in October jumped 2.60% to $38.31 per barrel during post-settlement trade at 4:21 pm ET following the data release. Brent for deliveries in November rose 2.32%, selling for $40.61 per barrel at 4:27 pm ET.
