Eurozone trade surplus up to €27.9B in July

Euro area's international trade in goods surplus amounted to €27.9 billion in July, rising on both monthly and annual bases, the European Union's statistical office Eurostat announced in an estimate released on Wednesday.

Eurozone exports to the rest of the world fell by 10.4% year on year to €185.2 billion, while imports declined by 14.3% to €157.3 billion compared to the same month a year ago.

Trade among states within the euro area was recorded at €153.7 billion in July, marking an 8.6% drop on an annual basis. In the whole European Union (EU28), the trade surplus in July stood at €25.8 billion.
