Oil edges up following OPEC+ meeting

Prices of crude gained nearly 1% on Friday after the OPEC+ Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) meeting on Thursday.

Following the meeting, Russia's Energy Minister Alexander Nova stressed that all member states of the OPEC+ remained committed to the alliance's oil output cuts, while Saudi Oil Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman warned that "full compliance is not an act of charity" and noted that any overproducing attempt has "ended in failure."

Brent for November delivery added 0.79% at 3:35 am ET to sell for $43.64 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for settlements in October rose 0.76% at the same time, trading for $41.28 per barrel.
