Libya's Haftar says oil production to resume

Eastern Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar said on Friday oil production in the country would resume following an eight-month blockade.

However, the commander provided no further details on the resumption of crude production, while the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Libya's largest producer, said it would not lift the blockade on exports until its oil facilities were demilitarized.

According to the Central Bank of Libya, the blockade by eastern forces has cost the country roughly $9 billion in lost revenue so far.
