Oil declines as COVID-19 worries rise

Oil prices dropped over 2% on Monday as the investors struggled to shrug off the concerns over the coronavirus pandemic recovery.

The number of COVID-19 cases recorded globally surpassed 31 million, while the United States reported another 32,186 infections during the last 24 hours.

West Texas Intermediate for October's settlement dived 2.15% to trade for $40.41 per barrel at 6:05 am ET. A minute later, Brent for deliveries in November dipped 1.81%, selling at $42.37 per barrel.
