Ford invests $1.46B to make e-cars in Canada

Canadian largest private-sector union Unifor said on Tuesday that the American multinational automaker Ford Motor Co plans to invest C$1.95 billion ($1.46 billion) in its Canadian factories.

Under the agreement, Ford will modernize one factory in Oakville to enable it to construct five different models of electric vehicles between 2025. and 2028. According to Unifor's President Jerry Dias, the first electric vehicle should be available to the public in 2025.

Previously, workers claimed they would support a strike if a deal could not be reached.
