US coronavirus deaths rise by 838 to top 200,000
Johns Hopkins University's tally showed the daily jump in new COVID-19 deaths in the United States landed at 838 on Tuesday, which takes the nation's coronavirus death toll past the 200,000 mark, to 200,654.
During the same time period, the total number of infections in the country increased by 57,044 to 6,890,014, while the cumulative number of tests administered by the nation's health workers passed 96.6 million.
On the other hand, the number of people released from hospitals after fully recovering from the disease rose to a total of 2,646,959.
