Mnuchin thinks relief deal with Dems possible

It is likely that the Trump administration and the House Democrats will reach an agreement on the next coronavirus relief bill in the United States later in the day, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told CNBC on Wednesday.

Mnuchin added both sides were "working hard" on the stimulus package and added he hopes a "reasonable response" will be agreed upon later in the day.

The secretary is set to talk to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi during the day. They also discussed the legislation proposal via telephone on Tuesday. Reports suggested that the White House wants the bill to be worth around $1.5 trillion while the Democrats are aiming at $2.2 trillion.
