Trump signs government funding bill

White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere announced on Thursday that United States President Donald Trump has signed a bill funding the government agencies through December 11, 2020.

The bill, also known as the continuing resolution, passed the Senate last evening in a bipartisan 84-10 vote ahead of the expiry of government funding at midnight. The continuing resolution passed the House of Representatives with a 359-57 vote last week. Congress now has until December 11 to either approve 12 funding bills totaling $1.4 trillion or pass another temporary resolution to avoid a government shutdown.

On the other hand, Democratic and Republican lawmakers and the White House are still negotiating the next bill on coronavirus-related economic stimulus.
