UK to quit EU trade talks if there is no deal by Oct 15 - Frost

The United Kingdom is ready to quit the negotiations over post-Brexit trade relations with the European Union if the deal is not reached by October 15, British Chief Negotiator of Task Force Europe David Frost (pictured) warned on Wednesday.

"As we approach the 15th, and it is very close already, I will have to advise the Prime Minister [Boris Johnson] on whether the conditions in his statement have been met or not," he said. Frost added there was "some way" to reach an agreement but that it was difficult to "agree on the level of details the EU wants."

Earlier in the day, British State Secretary for International Trade Liz Truss said the trade deal between London and Brussels was still possible and revealed Britain is vying to make one similar to "the deal that Canada has with the EU."
