Bitcoin tops $11,000 as banks mull digital currency
The price of cryptocurrencies surged on Friday after news that major central banks in the world are discussing the possible introduction of their digital currencies.
Meanwhile, CoinDesk reported that Binance UK Director Teana Baker-Taylor would be stepping down from her role after only six months as the exchange's head. Previously, Jack Dorsey's Square announced the company had bought $50 million in Bitcoin.
Bitcoin surged 4.14% over the last 24 hours to $11,086 at 7:27 am ET, while Ether jumped 6.27% to $360.51 a minute later.
