Macron: Anyone who breaks curfew rules to be fined

French President Emmanuel Macron stated on Wednesday the coronavirus curfew will be imposed for four weeks, starting this Saturday. Due to the rising figures in daily registered COVID-19 cases, curfew will be imposed in all major French cities.

During curfew there will be no restaurants open and any crowd gathering including "visiting friends," said Macron adding that anyone who breaks the curfew rules will be heavily fined.

The French president also noted that the furlough will be reactivated in affected sectors.

According to the last information, France registered 22,591 cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours with the death toll reaching 33,037.
