Europe up in premarket despite virus fears

Major stock market indexes in Europe were higher in the premarket ahead of the week's last trading session on Friday. The investors shrugged off some of the worries caused by the rapid increase of coronavirus daily case counts across the continent to make up for some of the losses from the previous trading bout.

On the data front, the traders will keep an eye on the report on the euro area inflation rate, scheduled for release later in the day.

The Dax gained 0.47% at 7:22 am CET, while the FTSE 100 advanced 0.74% a minute prior. In Paris, the CAC 40 was up 0.98% at 7:34 am CET. The euro stood flat versus the dollar at 7:23 am CET, selling for $1.17072, while the pound declined by 0.12% against the United States currency, selling for $1.28918 a minute later.
