McConnell: Senate to vote on $500B GOP bill Oct. 21

United States Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (pictured) revealed that the upper chamber of Congress will conduct a vote on Republican-proposed economic relief legislation worth $500 billion on Wednesday, October 21.

"Working families have spent months waiting for [House of Representatives] Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi's Marie Antoinette act to stop. They should not have to wait any longer. Next week, Senate Republicans will move to break this logjam. The Senate will vote on hundreds of billions of dollars for targeted relief programs that Democrats do not even claim to oppose," he said in a statement.

On Tuesday, October 20, the Senate will vote on a "standalone vote on additional PPP [Paycheck Protection Program] funds," McConnell also announced.
