Microphones in second Trump-Biden debate to be muted

United States Commission on Presidential Debates revealed in a statement it decided to change the rules for the second face-off between President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee former Vice President Joe Biden.

One of the candidates will have his microphone muted while the opponent is speaking in order to give the two presidential hopefuls 2 minutes of uninterrupted time for providing their arguments, the statement said. It added, however, that the two will both be able to speak without their microphones being cut off in the follow-up discussion.

The move comes amid a push by the Democratic Party to change the regulations after the frequent interruptions seen in the first debate.
