SCOTUS allows mail-in ballot extension in Pennsylvania

The United States Supreme Court rejected attempts by the Republican Party to block the mail-in voting extension in Pennsylvania, which gives the swing state three additional days after the election to receive the votes.

The extension assures every ballot postmarked by November 2 that arrives by November 6 will be counted.

Initially, the deadline was pushed as a spike in the mail-in ballots is expected to slow down the mail delivery with many eligible voters across the United States opting to cast their votes through the mail in order to avoid contracting or spreading the COVID-19.
