US opens higher on Trump's remarks

Major stock markets in the United States opened higher on Tuesday after President Donald Trump's comments on the economic recovery from the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Trump stated he was ready to "go over" $2.2 trillion for the new stimulus and promised the country would "never shut down" despite new spikes in infections from COVID-19. Meanwhile, housing starts and building permits for privately-owned units both saw a rise on a monthly and an annual level in September.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.45% at the opening as The Travelers Companies Inc. grew 3.13%. The Nasdaq 100 went up by 0.44% with Moderna increasing by 2.59%. The S&P 500 rose by 0.55% as Regions Financial Corporation jumped 5.75%.

The euro gained 0.39% against the dollar to sell for $1.18161 at 9:27 am ET. At the same time, on the other hand, the pound sterling lost 0.18% to the greenback to exchange hands for $1.29243.
