Looking to reach 'some kind' of relief bill within 48h - Meadows

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows revealed on Wednesday that both the Republican Party and the House Democrats are striving to reach "some kind" of a COVID-19 stimulus deal in the following 48 hours.

In an interview with Fox News, Meadows asserted that state and local government aid is still the largest roadblock in the talks, but noted that he is "optimistic" in regards to the negotiations' outcome.

A day before, Meadows said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is the biggest obstacle to an accord on the relief package, while Pelosi expressed optimism claiming that an agreement is achievable, if "sticking points" are resolved.
