German defense minister self-isolates after COVID contact

German Defense Minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer (pictured) self-isolated after she had contact with a person infected with COVID-19, the ministry announced on Monday.

According to the statement, Kramp-Karrenbauer tested negative for the coronavirus and will remain in quarantine for six days as she met with a COVID-19 patient eight days ago.

On October 21, the country's Minister of Health Jens Spahn tested positive for the virus, experiencing mild symptoms only.
