Asian shares mostly down on coronavirus worries

Equities on major stock markets in the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly lower on Friday as coronavirus cases continue to surge in the United States, tarnishing any optimism from positive vaccine news. South Korean biotech company GL Rapha said it will produce 150 million doses of Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine a year.

The Nikkei 225 slipped 0.53% at the closing bell, while the Hang Seng fell 0.34% at 7:29 am CET and the Kospi grew by 0.72% two minutes later. The Shenzhen Composite and the Shanghai Composite plummeted 0.47% and 1.34% at 7:30 am CET, respectively. The S&P/ASX 200 in Australia ended the session with losses of 0.20%.

The dollar decreased by 0.17% against the yen, changing hands for 104.9580 at 7:28 am CET.
