European markets open lower ahead of data
Major European markets started Friday’s session in the red as investors are waiting for certain data to be released. The euro area is expected to publish preliminary estimates for third-quarter unemployment change figures, as well as the trade balance data and the second estimate of third-quarter GDP growth for the eurozone.
The DAX was down 0.16% at 9:03 am CET as Basf SE dipped by 1.11%. The CAC 40 opened 0.30% lower with Safran going down by 1.93% at 9:07 am CET. The FTSE 100 started 0.75% in the red with Rolls-Royce Holdings being the worst performer falling by 3.90% at 9:06 am CET.
The euro grew 0.07% against the dollar at 9:02 am CET, buying 1.18155. The pound increased 0.34% against the greenback, to go for 1.31638.
