Hungary first EU country to test Sputnik vaccine

Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto (pictured right) posted on Thursday on his Facebook account that Hungary received a sample of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine. This is the first time the Russian Sputnik V vaccine is delivered to a member state of the European Union.

Szijjarto announced that Hungarian experts would study the composition of the vaccine and evaluate its efficacy "for the most well-founded decision to be made."

According to Russian media, Moscow is in negotiations with Budapest regarding the production of the Sputnik V vaccine in Hungary.
