Asia trades with gains amid vaccination prep

Markets across the Asia-Pacific region traded mostly with gains on Monday supported by news of governments across the globe preparing for coronavirus vaccinations. Over the weekend, officials in the United States said the country begin vaccinating as early as December 11, or immediately upon approval of Pfizer's vaccine candidate by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In Europe, Germany and Spain also announced the countries could start vaccinations early this winter.

The Tokyo Stock Exchange was closed for a holiday, while the Kospi Composite jumped 2.02% at 7:30 am CET. Meanwhile in China, the Shanghai Composite climbed 1.10% as the Shenzhen Composite gained 0.70%. The Hang Seng was flat at the time. The Australian S&P/ASX 200 closed 0.34% higher in Syndey. The dollar declined 0.07% against the Japanese yen at 7:35 am CET, buying ¥103.753.
