Conte urges common EU stance on Christmas curbs

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Wednesday that his government doesn't want to limit border travel around the Christmas holidays.

Instead of that, Conte urged the European Union to form a common stance on restrictions that could be implemented by the holiday season to prevent the coronavirus from spreading.

Measures currently in effect across Italy are reducing the number of daily registered COVID-19 cases, but on the other hand, the outbreak is now taking its toll with 853 COVID-related fatalities reported yesterday.
