US personal income unexpectedly down 0.5% in October

Personal spending in the United States rose by 0.5% in October, beating estimates by 0.1 percentage points, a report from the US Department of Commerce showed on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, personal income dropped 0.7%, disappointing expectations that saw it growing 0.4%.

Last month's figures were revised to 1.2% from 1.4% and 0.7% to 0.9%.
