Tanker damaged by mine near Saudi-Yemeni border
An oil tanker was hit by a mine and damaged in the ensuing explosion on Wednesday in the Red Sea near Shuqaiq, Saudi Arabia, north of the border with Yemen.
Operations of the MT Agrari, a Maltese-flagged, Greek-managed oil tanker, told the Associated Press that an unidentified source attacked the ship, but stressed that the crew suffered no injuries as a result of the assault. Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen later said it "foiled" a "terror attack," according to Al-Arabiya.
Yesterday, the coalition claimed it destroyed five mines in the Red Sea allegedly planted by Yemeni Houthis.
