Coveney: Brexit talks are very difficult at the moment

Irish Foreign Minister Simon Coveney (pictured) asserted on Thursday that the negotiations on the post-Brexit trade deal between the United Kingdom and the European Union are "very difficult" at the moment, describing the current point in the talks as a "sensitive" one.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Coveney asserted that the EU recognizes that London has "red lines," but warned that the time for making a deal is "running out."

Earlier during the day, British Finance Secretary Rishi Sunak expressed modest optimism in regards to the outcome of the talks, noting that he is both "hopeful and confident" that the negotiation process will result in a deal acceptable to both sides.
