Bolsonaro says he won't take COVID-19 vaccine

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro stated that he doesn't plan to get vaccinated against the coronavirus and added the country is unlikely to make vaccination mandatory.

"I’m telling you, I’m not going to take it. It’s my right," Bolsonaro said. He also voiced skepticism over mask-wearing, claiming there was little evidence it is effective in preventing transmission of the virus. However, Bolsonaro has been seen wearing a mask several times during the pandemic.

Earlier, the Brazilian president, who already had COVID-19, expressed skepticism toward vaccination, but announced the country's plans to buy several vaccines, including the one developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca.
