Trump to veto this year's defense bill if section 230 stands

United States President Donald Trump announced on Twitter he plans to veto this year's major defense policy bill in case Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act is not removed.

The president called the section which protects social media companies from taking legal responsibility for the content users posted on their platform, a "serious threat" to national security and election integrity.

"Our Country can never be safe & secure if we allow it to stand," Trump said in a tweet. "Therefore, if the very dangerous & unfair Section 230 is not completely terminated as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), I will be forced to unequivocally VETO the Bill when sent to the very beautiful Resolute desk," he added.
