US stocks mostly higher in premarket after Congress passes relief bill

Stocks on Wall Street traded mostly higher on Tuesday after both the House and Senate approved the $900 billion coronavirus stimulus package. However, gains were capped by worries over a new, more transmissible strain of the coronavirus that was identified in the United Kingdom last week and is believed to have spread to several other countries, including the US.

The Nasdaq 100 rose 0.29% at 4:22 am ET, the S&P was up 0.08%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.06% at the same time.

The euro lost 0.10% against the dollar to sell for 1.22190 at 4:23 am ET.
