US closes in the green after EU, UK reach trade deal

Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States ended the session with gains on Thursday, in a session cut short due to the Christmas Eve, after the European Union and the United Kingdom both confirmed that they reached a deal on the post-Brexit trade arrangements.

The trading on Wall Street will restart on Monday, as the stock markets will be closed tomorrow on Christmas day.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.23% as the session ended with Visa up by 1.66%. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 advanced by 0.46% with Pinduoduo soaring 8.91%. The S&P 500 rose by 0.35% at the closing bell as Fidelity National Information Services surged 4.52%. The euro slid 0.06% versus the dollar, selling for 1.21882 at 12:58 pm ET.
