Dow jumps 170 pts premarket after record-setting session

Shares on the major stock market indexes in the United States traded higher in the premarket on Tuesday with the Dow Jones Industrial Average surging 170 points, continuing the rally seen the day before when it met the closing bell at a record high, along with the Nasdaq 100, and the S&P 500.

Despite his initial demand for the government spending package to include $2000 direct payments to the US citizens, US President Donald Trump signed the bill the day before. The amended bill was later passed by the country's House of Representatives and is now in the hands of the Senate. The Democratic party leaders have invited Trump to urge the Republican senators to vote for the proposed changes.

The Dow Jones soared 0.58% or 175 points at 4:15 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.44% at the same time. A minute later, the S&P 500 was up by 0.51%. The euro strengthened 0.21% versus the dollar, selling for 1.22384 at 4:16 am ET.
