UK upper house approves post-Brexit trade deal with EU

The United Kingdom's post-Brexit free trade agreement with the European Union has passed the upper house of the British parliament unopposed.

No opposition in the House of Lords for the third reading of the legislation comes after the lawmakers in the lower house forwarded the bill with a 521-73 vote, ending nearly four years of negotiations between the two sides.

During the day on Wednesday, the bloc's representatives, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Charles Michel, have inked the bill, followed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, but the UK parliament was set to finalize its implementation.
