US shares turn higher premarket on data optimism

Major stock indexes in the United States turned higher premarket on Thursday as Wall Street is getting ready for the last day of this year. Investors are monitoring the oncoming report on initial jobless claims that will be revealed later in the day. Also, traders are still optimistic regarding the vaccine rollout as well as a new economic relief package from Congress.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.06% at 6:27 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 increased by 0.18%. The S&P 500 climbed 0.09% at the same time.

The euro stood flat against the greenback at 6:28 am ET, changing hands for 1.22855 dollars.
