UK truck drivers protest Brexit rules near Downing Street

At least ten shellfish trucks parked in streets around Downing Street, the seat of the British prime minister, media reported on Monday. The drivers are protesting against the changes in regulations that were enacted after the United Kingdom left the European Union at the end of last year.

The trucks, reportedly transporting shellfish for Scottish fishing companies, also drove past the Houses of Parliament, some carrying slogans denouncing post-Brexit rules. Since the UK left the union, the EU has reintroduced additional paperwork such as health checks and customs declarations, causing delays in exporting goods from the UK.
