More than 160 evacuated after Shetland Islands quake

Chilean National Office for Emergency announced that it has evacuated more than 160 staffers from the country's research station on the South Shetland Islands that was hit by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake earlier.

According to the office's statement, five out of ten other research facilities, run by other countries, have opted for the same move.

Shortly after the quake in Antarctica, mainland Chile was struck by a 5.8 earthquake. No damages or casualties were reported.
