Starbucks COO to take over as Walgreens CEO

Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. announced that outgoing Starbucks Corp.'s chief operating officer Roz Brewer will become Walgreens' new chief executive.

Brewer, whose departure was announced today in the coffee chain's first-quarter earnings release, will replace Stefano Pessina starting February.

Pessina, meanwhile, will remain on Walgreens' board of directors, where he will take over as chairman.
