Spain to receive 2.3M Pfizer, Moderna jab doses - minister

Spain will receive 2.3 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19 produced by Moderna Inc., and Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE in February, the country's Health Minister Carolina Darias announced on Monday.

The news comes shortly after BioNTech promised it would send an additional 75 million COVID-19 doses to the European Union in the second quarter of 2021. Earlier, Pfizer and BioNTech, as well as AstraZeneca, stated they were facing difficulties in the deliveries of their jabs.

As of Friday, Spain counts a total of 2,743,119 infections from COVID-19 and 58,319 coronavirus-related deaths.
