Wall Street opens higher amid earnings season

Major stocks on Wall Street opened deep in the positive territory on Tuesday as the earnings season continued to take investors' focus. Companies such as Exxon Mobil, Alibaba and Pfizer posted their financial results ahead of today's session.

In tech news, Elon Musk's SpaceX recently announced it plans to launch a Crew Dragon capsule into the Earth's orbit with four private individuals on it, making the flight the "world's first all-civilian mission." Relief talks in the Senate continued, with White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki insisting an extensive bipartisan deal will be reached soon.

The Dow jumped 0.86% or 255 points at the open, as Goldman Sachs rose 2.36%. The Nasdaq soared 0.91% or 119 points, with climbing 4.02%. The S&P 500 rose 0.94%. Waters Corp. surged 6.98%, making it to the top of the list. The indexes significantly extended gains in the minutes following the opening bell. The euro lost 0.15% against the dollar to sell for 1.20390.
