Myanmar junta leader alleges voter fraud

Myanmar's junta leader General Min Aung Hlaing said on Monday that the military coup to oust leader Aung San Suu Kyi was justified due to voter fraud.

"In order to maintain and protect the democratic system, Tamataw [the country's the armed forces] in line with the 2008 constitution declared a state of emergency," he said in a televised address. The general also pledged to hand power back after a new election.

Last week, the coup authorities blocked Myanmar citizens' access to Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
